CHER in Amsterdam for the 22nd International AIDS Conference

Representing CHER, Dr. Laura Hoyt D'Anna presented a poster on "Cannabis Use and Increased Risks for HIV among Young Black Sexual Minority Males in Los Angeles County, California” at the 22nd International AIDS Conference.  

This research has been conducted as part of the Peer Promotion and Enhanced Linkage to Resources Project, or PPOWER. PPOWER is a three-year pilot project funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration that serves gay- and non-gay identified young Black men who have sex with men (YBMSM) ages 18-24 in Long Beach, California.


The theme for AIDS 2018 was “Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges”, focusing on approaches on reaching key populations more effectively. The conference was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands during the week of July 23-27, 2018.
