Here's a breakdown of how many types of marijuana (e.g., blunts, edibles, joint) the young men who screened for the project described using in the past 30 days. When thinking bout the last 30 days, how many types of marijuana do you think you've used?

When looking at past 30-day tobacco use, around 45% of the young Black men who screened did not use any form of tobacco or nicotine. Though, 11% of young Black men were only exposed to tobacco/nicotine through smoking blunts/spliffs. If you smoke blunts, do you think about the tobacco/nicotine in the wraps?

As we wrap up sharing some of the initial findings from the project, we want to share a few tips to help if you are  in the process of or planning to cut back on tobacco/nicotine use.

Staying active can help you get through nicotine cravings. You can check out these Black-centered groups that can help you get active.

On days when it’s hard to deal with stress or nicotine cravings you can try to journal out your feelings. You can also look for a good writing prompt to help flex your creative muscles.

Chewing on something when you are experiencing nicotine cravings are a healthy substitute for a cigarette. What are your favorite low-calorie snacks to chew on when experiencing cravings or stress in general?

Reaching out to your community network for assistance or just to talk can help keep you on track with your goals and dealing with nicotine cravings. Who can you reach out to during these times?

If you smoke blunts, switching out your regular wraps for non-tobacco wraps can be a good way to reduce your exposure to tobacco/nicotine. A few common alternatives are hemp, mint, and rose wraps.
