Personal Narrative:  Extending Social Education Beyond the Classroom
by
Erin Haslett, the Compass School. Rumford, RI

Description

I will share my experience of educating parents about the social education taught in our school and ways they can incorporate it in their own lives.  This work will be primarily a reflection of work at The Compass School, a charter school based on the lenses of environmental sustainability and social responsibility.  It may include work and research in conjunction with Dr. Bernard Lafayette of URI and the Peace and Non-Violence studies program, especially Kingian Non-Violence.
