Students Shine at Research Competition

Nine Cal State Long Beach students were selected to participate in the 32nd Annual California State University Research Competition held in May at California State University, Sacramento. The students who attended this important competition were Zahra Aghababa, Hannah Liska, Raphael Monroy, Nathalie Nann, Anastasia Nesbitt, Tina Nguyen, Chyann Richard, Alexandra Rodriguez, and Thomas Trudgeon.

The system-wide competition showcases top research by CSU undergraduate and graduate students in a full range of academic  programs  to highlight  excellence in scholarly research and creativity.

Participating students presented their findings in front of a panel of professional experts from major corporations, foundations, public agencies and various colleges and universities in California.

Three of the Cal State Long Beach students placed first. Nguyen took first in the Biological and Agricultural Sciences for undergraduates, while Monroy won the top award in Physical and Mathematics Sciences for graduate students. Trudgeon was the winner of the combined graduate and undergraduate session in Creative Art and Design. Congratulations to all nine presenters for sharing their research at the competition.
