Dr. Conner has written many successful R03 grant proposals; hence his expertise will be valuable for individuals who are thinking about seeking funding from NIH.  Many new scholars are unfamiliar with the R03, and others still wonder should they apply for the R03 verses the R21.  Dr. Conner will share his experience (e.g., why he chose the R03, what type of projects he had funded through the R03 mechanism, the stage of his work when he selected the R03, how was the R03 beneficial for moving his research forward).

After the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask Dr. Klein questions about

Dr. Bluthenthal will discuss his online video on the mechanics and culture of the NIH review process, and the relative importance of innovation in grant applications.

• Become familiar with the basics of the proposal review process and review criteria.
• Learn strategies for strengthening the innovation section.
• Have an opportunity to pose questions to an experienced NIH funded researcher.

This event will include a video presentation by Dr. Bastani available to participants 1 week prior to the webinar. Additional information, and questions from event participants will be addressed during the 1 hour webinar.
