Friday, March 1, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. Nominations received after this time will not be considered. Award recipients will be announced and then recognized during the Staff Service Awards and Recognition Ceremony on Tuesday, June 11 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Description:

The Inclusive Excellence Award recognizes an employee who had made a significant contribution in fostering an inclusive culture of respect, collegiality, and civility.

  • The employee aligned actions and decisions with the University’s core value of diversity.
  • Beyond the normal scope of their work duties, the employee:
    • Sought out, valued and utilized differing knowledge, experiences, and talents of CSULB’s diverse community.
    • Promoted practices and initiated efforts to support inclusion of all people, building community and effective cross-cultural collaborations.
    • exemplified, through leadership and positive interactions with others, a commitment to the spirit of inclusivity, diversity, and a profound respect for all people from different backgrounds, life experiences, and points of view within the University.
    • Promoted practices, initiated efforts, and demonstrated behaviors that illustrate commitment to inclusion of persons within the institution who are members of under-represented groups, building community and effective cross-cultural collaborations.
