Sal Alaniz - Beach Building Services - Grounds
Sal Alaniz is the lead Grounds worker for Parking Landscape services. He has been with the University for 8+ years; Sal started as a grounds worker with the upper campus crew and then became the lead for the parking crew. Sal is the kind of employee that always has a positive “can do” attitude.
A colleague stated, “Sal has developed a team that is motivated and exhibits his same values of providing quality work and service. Sal is often called upon for to support improvement projects, events and department operations.”
No matter the task asked of Sal and his crew, they are always ready to respond with a positive attitude, and they reliably ensure each job is completed with high quality work.
Recent projects included the re-landscaping along the track before graduation and restoring landscape along Beach Drive in Parking lot G-1.
He has been married 25 years, and he and his wife have two children, a 25-year-old daughter attending school at CSULB working on her teaching credential, and a 19-year-old son.
Sal’s hobbies include riding his Harley Davidson and he is currently training for the LB marathon.
