Advancement Services

Awarded Monday, July 1, 2024, via Zoom Virtual celebration. Julie was joined by President Jane Close Conoley, numerous University Relations and Development and campus colleagues, and family members.

Julie Wilson, Assistant Director of Database Management in Advancement Services, began her career with CSULB’s University Relations and Development team in November of 1998 – she just received her twenty-five-year service award. She supports the University’s mission in the areas of advancement services and prospect/alumni database management. In her current role, she is responsible for overseeing incoming data and maintaining data integrity to support effective fundraising, strategic planning, and data-driven decision making within the organization.

Luc Tran, Desktop and Network Security Administrator within the Division of IT expressed in his Best of the Beach nomination for Julie, “Julie has been the key player/partner for assisting the security team in protecting Alumni/Donor data for some time now. She has done an outstanding job in providing all of the necessary security documents in order for the security team to assess all of our third-party vendors/partners.

“It's not an easy task to manage and communicate with so many vendors that she has to work with in order to get the documents and information in a timely manner, but she does it efficiently and in a professional manner.

“In some recent high priority purchases of services, she has put in so much extra effort, even when she is off. It is thanks to her that, we are able to properly vet all of these vendors. Without Julie, we may end up working through these requests for months.”

“I deeply appreciate Julie's dedication to ensuring our division-wide projects reach the Electronic and Information Technology finish line. She genuinely cares about our work and has firsthand knowledge of the outstanding contributions our colleagues are making,” shared Nicole Forrest-Boggs, Assistant Vice President of URD Operations.

Julie is an Indiana native and lived in North Carolina for eight years prior to moving to California in 1997. She’s the oldest of six siblings, has one son, and two dogs. She said she enjoys “social gatherings, good neighbors, traveling with friends and family, and a nice glass of cab".
