Employee of the Month - March 2023

Nicole Pricer - Admissions Systems Module Lead - Enrollment Services

Awarded Thursday, March 16, 2023, via Zoom Virtual celebration. Nicole was joined by President Jane Close Conoley, Director of Admissions Andrew Wright, Associate Director of Admissions Janice Miller, numerous ES and campus colleagues, and friends.

Nicole Pricer is described as organized, caring, and loyal and has worked in CSULB’s Enrollment Services department for twenty years. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge in this area due to the variety of positions she has held. Some of her previous positions include Transfer Admissions Evaluator, Lead Athletic Evaluator, Assistant Module Lead for Academic Advising Systems, and her current role as Admissions Systems Module Lead.

Andrew Wright, Director of Admissions, shared, “As an invaluable member of Enrollment Services, and Module Lead for the Admissions Team, Nicole exemplifies the very best of The Beach. From the first day of joining the Admissions team, Nicole has brought her strength as a leader, and her keen eye for details to every project and task she has been assigned. She is always eager to jump in and tackle projects, and adept at navigating the intricacies of numerous systems to ensure a smooth end-user experience. We are so incredibly proud of her for her many accomplishments and even happier she could be celebrated by the campus for her hard work and dedication. Go Beach!”

Lindsay Sterk, the Assistant Director of the College of Business Graduate Programs, expressed her appreciation for Nicole’s excellent level of support and professionalism when collaborating to fix an issue with the CSU application portal.

Lindsay added, “Nicole has exhibited nothing but patience and kindness as we prepared our applications for the next admission cycle. She helped us to correct the errors within the Cal State Apply application portal, serving as an excellent liaison between our office, the campus, and the CSU. She was able to get the application items fixed quickly and before too many applications had been submitted, which was key to having less applicants to follow-up with, minimizing the possible less than ideal impression of us as an institution of choice for the applicants.

“She also provided immediate access to WebAdmit as needed for a staff member. Without this immediate access, we would have been behind in the application and admissions processing, causing even more challenges.

“I appreciate Nicole's responsiveness and willingness to help and support…She has exhibited the highest level of professionalism and care. Nicole truly exhibits the Best of the Beach as she demonstrates it takes a village to support our applicants and ensure the application process runs as efficiently and smoothly as possible. Her responsiveness and immediacy demonstrate that she knows how important first impressions are to our prospective students and this in turn helps them select CSULB as their institution of choice.”

Born and raised in Long Beach, Nicole is a CSULB alumna, graduating with a B.S. in Health Care Administration in 2000. Outside of work, you can often find her volunteering as a booster with Millikan High School Marching Band and Color Guard at competitions since her daughter, MiaBella, is a Color Guard member. Nicole also enjoys cooking, sewing, camping, going on cruises, and binge-watching survival TV shows.
